| Introduction |

The international conference on Mid-Infrared Optoelectronics: Materials and Devices (MIOMD) brings together material scientists, device physicists, application engineers and end users working in the rapidly advancing area of optoelectronics covering the 2 µm to 30 µm mid-infrared (MIR) wavelength range. The MIOMD conference provides a unique forum to discuss issues of relevance for the realization of semiconductor emitters and detectors on the one hand and their application
to production and environmental control, medical diagnostics, as well as security applications on the other hand.
After MIOMD-VIII which took place at Bad Ischl (Austria), this conference series will be continued with MIOMD-IX to be held in Freiburg (Germany) from September 7 to
11, 2008. |
